Who are we

“Today is a marvelous time to be a priest!” These words of John Paul II were the inspiration for a group of Catholic seminarians from the Legionaries of Christ to develop www.WhynotPriest.org

Could I be a priest? How can I discern if God is calling me to the priesthood? What is life in the seminary like? These are some of the questions that young men are asking, young men who are anxious to do something great, noble, and lasting with their lives. www.WhynotPriest.org wants to help them find the answers they are looking for.

Many young people have already experienced Jesus and have decided to embark on the adventure of following him more closely as priests, religious or lay-consecrated. They are a true witness of joy and generosity, each in their own vocation. www.WhynotPriest.org wants to share their story of how they have found their happiness and fulfillment.

Other young people however are in a period of discernment. By spending time at seminaries, visiting religious houses, going on retreat, and engaging in missionary work they are trying to discover God’s plan for their lives. Here they are greatly aided by their spiritual directors. www.WhynotPriest.org offers additional resources for such young people to continue discerning their vocation.
